Some Things Take Time.

So while I was packing up my belongings from my desk at the job I recently left after 7 plus years, I was taking down the SWEATLUNG logo that I had drawn and pinned to the wall above my desk. I figured seeing as I have been putting some more effort into the label of late that I should work on putting this logo to some sort of use. When I unfolded the paper to put in the scanner tonight, I realized that I had conveniently dated the sketch "2004". So this has been sitting there without a thought for 4 years. It needs a little bit of a polish, which i have started to do, added some background colour and cleaned some random marks, but here it is for the first time made public.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you the Sweatlung logo!

Superstupid vs. Paul Kidney at Pony

Last night at Pony in Melbourne city Superstupid unleashed a wall of heavy-as-fuck-blown-out-ear-blistering-psychedelic-fuzz-rock. Minds blown and ears ringing, Paul Kidney was there at the front unleashing his own energy in full Kidney style sonic driven dance. Amazing show.

Pig Heart Transplant : Hope You Enjoy Heaven CD Out Soon On SWEATLUNG.

I'm super stoked to announce that the PIG HEART TRANSPLANT 'HOPE YOU ENJOY HEAVEN' cd on Sweatlung is just about to be unleashed. Having been in process for almost a year now the all the parts have hit the ground down under and are heading off to the pressing plant this week.

Pig Heart Transplant is a project headed by Jon Kortland (Iron Lung / Gob) and on this release he is joined by a host of heavy hitters: August Alston (Lords Of Light / Walls / Silentist), Sanders Creasy (Unpersons, Bite Itself), Chris Dodge (Despise You / Lack Of Interest / Spazz / Hellnation / East West Blast Test etc.), Dustin Ferris (Hounded Wounds), Mike Priehs (Threatener, Herds, Mutator, Broachfaced), Jensen Ward (Iron Lung / Artimus Pyle / Walls / Cold Sweat, Gehenna etc.), Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil / Lana Dagales / Laudanum).

Having released a bundle of tapes, CDrs and a split 7" with rumblers Blue Sabbath Black Cheer, PHT have proved themselves a force of dark noise. Sparse rumbles, sludge ridden guitar, raw growls and blunt force drums with nods to Man Is The Bastard and Swans.

Also available in a limited quantity is a Pig Heart Transplant "Hope You Enjoy Heaven" CD & t-shirt deal, please contact for availability of sizes etc.

This release will be available in mid September. If you would like to pre-order a copy please feel free to shoot me an email at getonthehorse(@)hotmail.com .

Family Jewels & Breathing Shrine

Caught the first show of Family Jewels, Nick from Onani / Circle Pit at Forepaw the other night, pretty promising beginings from this Sydney fella. Afterward Breathing Shrine, Bonnie Mercer and Rob Mayson from Grey Daturas and about a million other outfits, played a great set. Highly recommend checking out both these acts.

BREATHING SHRINE

Absoluten Calfeutrail

Absoluten Calfeutrail performing in a Thornbury lounge room a few weeks back. Harsh, abrasive brutality. Absoluten is Grover who also plays in True Radical Miracle, Whitehorse, and CTV. He has great release on Sabbatical, Idget Child and Smell The Stench and also a future release on Sweatlung. Check out Absoluten actions and other Grover related info HERE.

Junk Brothers

Featured previously here in some shots from Pony a while back, these shots of Rod Cooper and Sean Baxter were taken at one of the monthly Sabbatical Presents nights at The After Dark in Thornbury. The Sabbatical nights at the After Dark along with the Stutter nights at Horse Baazar are must attend events if your keen to see great experimental party hits.

Sean Baxter & junk.

Both great performers and people!

Under The Bridge

There has been a bunch of shows under the Northcote Bridge over Merri Creek in Clifton Hill, I have played two shows down there one with Thugz n' Playaz and another with Collapsed Toilet Vietnam. I didn't really get any photos of any of the bands playing but here is some shots of the gathering under the bridge when Pathetic Human, Bleak Infinity, Bum Creek, Gauntlet (KRYSTOFFKRVSTOFFISTON & Always), Collapsed Toilet Vietnam and Spacebong played. A pretty awesome place to watch a show.

True Radical Miracle

Last night I headed down to Pony and took in a rare appearance from one of Australia's finest bands True Radical Miracle. If you haven't come across this band and you are a fan of bands like Pissed Jeans, Snake Apartment, Dry Rot, Born Against & the like then you need check this shit out.

They have a few releases from the most recent back we have "Cockroaches" on Missing Link, "Roaches Parts 1 & 2" on Sabbatical, "Some Songs For Shame" on Eerie Stratum and the "Taste The Rainbow" cassette on Fuckn Stoner.

Taste The Rainbow will see cd release, with possible bonus material on Sweat Lung at some point which makes me very happy.

Here are some shots of TRM in action:
